Powerhouse Pop-up Book Workshop
Here are some snaps from the Kids Pop-Up Book Workshop I taught at the Powerhouse Museum as part of Sydney Design Week 2010. I hosted two separate workshops over two days.
We had the best time making all sorts of paper engineering creations. I started with teaching the kids basic origami and folding techniques and then progressed on to simple pop-up cards. We finally made two more complex cards as we built the skills of the kids up over the duration of the workshop.
It was a bit dark in there, but the bright paper makes up for it!

We put all the creations up on display so everyone could see what each other had made.
The final pop-up card we made was of a ‘sea dragon’. I had everyone decorate their cards with bits of paper. It was such a fun day. I hope I inspired a new generation of little Australian Paper Engineers!
