Spring at the QVB

I collaborated with One Green Bean to create a huge installation in the dome of the iconic Queen Victoria Building for three months to celebrate the arrival of Spring 2012.
I was invited to come and talk with Linda Mottram on ABC702 Radio about the project. There is a small podcast of the interview HERE.

Agency: One Green Bean
Production: Antimatter
Paper Engineering: Benja Harney

The brief was ‘florals’ so we came up with a series of elements that combined to create huge sprays that hang over the central void of the building.

This was one of the biggest job I have ever attempted and there was lots to take into consideration with regards to application of design – it was a real challenge! We used the heritage colours of the building for the flowers and foliage to create a sense of dialogue between the installation and the structure.

Because this job was so huge, we outsourced manufacturing and installation to Antimatter.
